Farm Enterprise Jacques
Farm enterprise Jacques was founded in April 2004 and started with 40 hectares of rented land. In 2012 Jacques merged with LLC Niva of Novomoskovsky District, which provided the farm with new assets (grain, leguminous, forage crops) as well as a cattle stock (meat and milk).
These days the Jacque’s farm is one of the biggest potato suppliers in Tula Region, with 20,000 hectares of croplands, of which potato fields constitute 3,500 hectares. The company’s annual production output exceeds 10,000 tonnes of potatoes, 25,000 tonnes of grain, about 5,000 tonnes of milk and 200 tonnes of meat. The farm is constantly creating new jobs, and currently employs over 200 people. The enterprise invests significant monetary resources into machine-and-tractor fleet renewal, hardware upgrades, and the digital technologies to augment the production.
Farming is mostly done using John Deere vehicles. Washed potato packaging line is equipped by the German company Gillenkirch. An automated control system installed at the farm enables one to follow the activities of every unit of farm machinery without leaving the office. The farm also has its own machinery repair workshop with a floor space of 1,500 sq. m. There are 25 potato cellars on the premises with a total capacity of about 70,000 tonnes, and also 3 automated packaging lines processing up to 500 tonnes of root crops daily. A new production and warehouse complex was built in Kholtobino village recently, adding 10 more potato cellars with a total capacity of 20,000 tonnes. A high-pressure gas line, a boiler room, and a power substation were constructed as well. In 2015 a major melioration project was completed at the farm, empowering it with an irrigation system with pump stations, pipeline, and centre-pivot irrigators. Jacques’s fleet of automobiles and other vehicles numbers 110 units, other equipment exceeds 338 units. The farm grows and sells over 10 varieties of potatoes.
